Frickin’ Roach!! Getthefrickouttahere!!

So this weekend, there I was chillin’ at home, enjoying my “I’d like to start getting home delivery of the” New York Times when all of a sudden I feel this thing scratching on my neck. Now sure, my goodlooks and English charm often result in babes back at basecamp, and scratching on my neck is normally the sign of a happy occasion, but I knew I was alone in my apartment so I was fairly alarmed. So I kinda made a brushing stroke across my neck and out the corner of my eye this HOOJ cockroach is sharin’ me Sunday Styles section of the paper! Like WTF? Who invited you?! He was massive!! He’d had one too many a Sunday roast!

Needless to say, the next 10 mins were pretty hairy. And I’m not just talking about my chest. After my initial dancin’ about (which probably looked more stupid than normal since I hadn’t got any choons on) I tried to find something to squish the rascal. Eventually I tracked down a trusty copy of PCW and decided this was the tool the job. See – techie magazines are practical! Now, at the last sighting this whopper of a roach was scampering behind the pillows (he’d was obviously trying to copy my bedroom style) 😉 . Piece by piece I took the bed apart but he was no-where to be found. The next hour I tried all sort of tactics, but to be honest, I think my bug-finding tactics are best left in the office. They don’t apply to real-life bugs. You can’t just check a roach’s log file or turn on debugging.

Needless to say, the last two nights were sleepless ones, but all for the wrong reasons. I kept dreaming that he was gonna come back for another attack. Well, just be warned Mr Brooklyn “how you doin” Roach – I got my Bug Byte Kat Trap so you stay away from me! Otherwise, I’m gonna feed you to a very hungry snake! Werd!

For each forgotten kiss
For all the memories
For all the times alone
Said all we had to say

You played your part so well
A modern Romeo
You came on Cupid’s wings
And then you flew away

When you touched my face
When you call my name
I’m burned with desire

When you touched my face
When you call my name
I’m burned with desire
But you left me in the rain

For every sleepless night
Forever in your arms
For every hour spent
Lost in the revery

You broke your promises
No shame and no regrets
You burned the bridges too
An endless mystery

When you touched my face
So beautiful
When you call my name
My name..
I’m burned with desire

When you touched my face
So beautiful
When you call my name
My name..
I’m burned with desire
But you left me in the rain

When you touched my face
So beautiful
When you call my name
My name..
I’m burned with desire

When you touched my face
When you call my name
I’m burned with desire
But you left me in the rain..

Dance Music TV Streams

For those with broadband there are now some dedicated TV channels that stream dance music 24 hours a day. The two listed below need Winamp to watch the stream, but it’s well worth it!

First up is Trance TV from NTCast.com. They’re based in Korea of all places, and play some excellent videos that you won’t see on MTV!! Lots of European stuff, including stuff you won’t have seen before.

Next is XRM TV which is based in the US. They play more mainstream dance, but again, it’s stuff from Europe so nice and fresh! Noice!

And best of all, both streams are commercial free and in high quality!

Updates to Radio Streams

Jazz FM is no longer broadcasting to the North East of the UK, so it’s gone from the streams page. You can still listen to the London station here. Added a new stream for ID & T Radio based in the Netherlands – commercial dance stuff in the day, specialist dance in the evenings, including Armin Van Buuren’s A State Of Trance. The stream is here (uses Winamp).

MG Sport & Racing Offer Even More Performance With “R” Version Of MG XPower SV A

MG Sport & Racing announced last week a higher-powered version of its high performance sports car, the MG XPOWER SV-R, at the Geneva Show.

The extra performance comes from a 5-0 litre, XPOWER version of the all aluminium, 32 valve, double overhead camshaft V8 engine. Built in conjunction with V8 tuning specialist Sean Hyland the car accelerates from standstill to 60 mph in less than 5 seconds. Top speed is circa 175 mph/ 282 kph.

The modifications to the engine give a significant increase in power output from the 320 hp of the level entry SV to 400 hp at 6000 rpm in the SV-R. At the same time, the extra engine capacity gives a massive increase in torque from 410Nm to 510 Nm at 4750 rpm for awesome mid range performance.

To keep the extra power under control, the SV-R is fitted with larger diameter Brembo brake discs. New alloy wheels, a rear wing and unique detailing set this car apart.

Naturally the SV-R retains all the best features of the entry level SV, recently launched in the UK. The high tech vehicle features F1 inspired carbon fibre composite body construction, double wishbone race-developed suspension, remote telemetry with security tracking and full harness inertia seat belts.

An automatic transmission option will be available.

Every SV is individually built to personal customer order and prices for the entry level SV start from £65,750.00.

Prices for the new SV-R start from £82,950.00

Recently appointed Managing Director of MG Sport & Racing John Parkinson said: “The SV-R is the next step in the evolution of the SV range and represents a tremendous increase in power and performance which makes it a thrill to drive.”

March 2004 Dance Chart

The March 2004 Dance Chart is out now!

At the top of the chart is probably one of the best vocal trance tracks of the year so far. IIO – Smooth (Airbase Remix) takes the gorgeous vocals by African-born Nadia and mixes them with some Airscape-sounding uplifting trance. Result? Choon! I have no idea if Airbase and Airscape are one and the same, but they do sound very similar! Anyway – check out this track now! The commercial release of the single also features a stack of other mixes too, so something to please everyone.

At number 2 is very good housey track from the Benny Benassi stable. However, the Vision mix sounds nothing like the electo-sounding “Satisfaction” which was the hit of summer 2003. If you’re after that sound, then there’s the Sfaction Mix, but it’s the Vision Mix which forms the basis for the radio edit and club mix. For a totally different slant on the track, you MUST check the lush-sounding “Alle Slow Mix” – a nice chillout version – perfect for the nights of Summer 2004! (yeah – Summer is just around the corner now!)

Stepping up a gear, at number 3 is the NY-sounding LIV (Life In Intense Volume) with Journey Of Love. Choon! Check the Extended Mix – great track, excellent production – chooner! At number 4 is a superb new dance act from The Netherlands called Candee Jay. You can check out her excellent website here. Pronti & Kalmani are behind Candee – they’re the peeps that did “Janeiro” (THE track of 2002?) and they were also responsible for some very popular artists in 99/2000. Commercial, yes, but there are some great mixes for this single! Check it out!

Brit dance acts JX and Kelly Lllorenna feature at numbers 5 and 6, whilst at number 7 is the very catchy “Girlfriend” by Robbie Rivera. It’s as catchy as chickenpox (but nicer!) and you’ll be singing it for ages.

Anyway, check out the complete March 2004 Dance Charts here.

More next month – stay chooned!
