Stonebridge – Take Me Away Video

It’s time for a brand new fresh n’ chewy choon! Stonebridge had great success this summer with the hit single Put ‘Em High. Well, now he and Swedish vocalist Therese are back with their brand new single “Take Me Away“. The official release day is a long way off (January 17 2005!) but the video is out now, and the track is already getting rotated on ID & T. The video was shot a few weeks ago in London and features some great nighttime shots of the city. The single is already Number 1 on the Music Week Upfront Chart, Number 1 on the DMC Upfront and Mainstream Charts and number 4 on the DMC Buzz Chart!

Can’t wait for this release next year. Check out the awesome video of Stonebridge – Take Me Away by clicking here.

November 2004 Dance Chart

Updates to this site are a lot like meeting babes – you wait ages and ages and then all of a sudden you get swamped by them!

The November 2004 chart has been published (it was out a day early for you eager beavers!). Topping the Chart are Aurora who are back on a new record label, and back with the dance sound! If you want this track, then head over to AudioJelly.com where you can download it right now. It’s like the Aurora of old (Hear You Calling, Ordinary World) rather than the more AOR tracks that featured on their last album. The track is called “Real Life” and you should definetly check both the Club Mix and Saasot & David Cong G Remixes. Next on the chart is a stunning remix by 29 Palms (aka Pete Lorimer). Don’t let the name Ashlee Simpson put you off – it only uses one verse and part of the chorus briefly of the original – this track rocks! If you like other Pete Lorimer mixes, you’ll like this. Ashlee Simpson – Pieces Of Me (29 Palms Remix Vocal Mix) is at number 2. Continuing on with the strong tracks – Tiesto is back with “Just Be”. The Antillas Club Mix is the best on here – cool synths and strong vocals from Kirsty Hawkshaw. Also check out Tiesto’s new album which is released today and features tracks inspired by his DJ performance during the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Greece.

Number 4 is “You Wont Forget About Me” which has Dannii Minogue putting her vocal talents over this summers Euro hit by Flower Power. You can check the video for it here. With or without the vocals, it’s still a great choon! Number 5 is Jordan James – the track features on Ultra:Trance4 and the Extended Mix has great commercial trance vibe to it. “Neo Cortex – Elements” is very Euro-sounding with cool synth’s – check out the DJs @ Work Remix.

The rest of the chart has some House (Holly James – Touch It (Lee Cabrera Mix), some Euro (Paps’n’skar – Mirage (Stasera La Luna…), some Trance Titan 3 – Let Your Heart Go Free (Judge Jules Mix) and some chilled vibes (Titan 3 – Let Your Heart Go Free (Blue & Stone Chilled Butterfly Remix).

Noice n’ chewy now that those nights are drawing in.

October 2004 Dance Chart

OK, it’s been ages since I’ve updated this site – but this weekend I finally got around to publishing the October 2004 Dance Chart!

There’s been a lot of decent releases this Autumn, so there’s something for everyone in the Chart. Eric Prydz’s track totally took off and topped the UK chart for a couple of weeks. And the video helped too 🙂 So “Call On Me” makes it to number 1. A very close second in chart is the gorgeous Lara McLaren with Angel City and their vocalised cover of Robert Miles’ Children. Check the BCD Remix of Do You Know for a fresh version if you’ve been radio’d to death of the original.

Whilst in the UK I picked up a great track by Clear Vu called “I Adore”. Excellent vocals with the sort of sound that AATW Records has been releasing recently. That track blends perfectly into the Kenny Hayes Remix of “Body Talk (Talk 2 Me)” by Protect The Innocent. Hopefully both those tracks will get commercial releases. At number 5 is a gem of a track by Benassi Bros Feat Dhany with “Hit My Heart”. This is currently number one on the Canadian Pool XL Chart. It’s always going to be difficult to beat Satisfaction, but this takes that electro sound and mixes it with great vocals.

I’ll leave you to discover the rest of the chart for yourselves – but Check Out Flower Power which was huge in Europe over the summer (and Dannii Minogue has just put vocals over it for a new release), Styles & Breeze – You’re Shining (various mixes) and Mysterious Skies by ATB.

The complete chart can be found here.

Eric Prydz – Call On Me Music Video

Time for a fresh new choon (and accompanying enegergtic video!) which I keep hearing a lot on my new fave station, ID & T.

Eric Prydz – Call On Me is still not due for UK release for another month, but it’s catchy as anything with the repetitive hook from “Valerie” by Steve Winwood. I guess it was out in the 80’s sometime (wow – that seems like ages away now. I must be getting old!). Anyway, this is the first time that the artist has ever allowed a sample to be cleared, so think along the lines of Junior Jack’s Stupidisco or DJ Falcon’s “So Much Love To Give” and you’ll get the drift of where this track is heading.

As for the video – hmmmm – it really doesn’t have anything at all to do with the lyrics! Instead we see some babes sweating it out in the gymn. Hmmmm – visit Ministry of Sound for the video!

Stupid Disco Make Your Move!

Summer is here at last, and that means the start of those awesome tracks which you’ll be hearing over the next couple of months! First up is Junior Jack with “Stupidisco” / Dave Armstrong “Make Your Move”. Huh? Is this two tracks or one? Basically, they are the same song and will both be released the week of 21 June. Dave Armstrong’s version features the original sample taken from “Dare Me” which was written by Sam Lorber and David Innis over 20 years ago (performed by the Pointer Sisters). The lyrics are easy to remember:

# Baby, make your move, step across the line,
# Touch me one more time, come on, dare me!

Dave Armstrong’s version should be out 22 June in the US.

Meanwhile for the UK release, Junior Jack has taken the same track, reworked the vocals and given it a more modern feel. It’s also been renamed Stupidisco (Stupid Disco). The result is a catchy summertime hit that’s already getting substantial play on the UK airwaves. This track gets a UK release on 21st June.

To accompany the release is an awesome new video featuring two bikini babes taking part in a wrestling match! Class! Be warned though, this contains nudity and is therefore over 18’s only. Check the video here.

Choon!

Springtime Videos!

Don’t you just love it when you wake up in the morning and you have these bright young babes dancing around your apartment? I know, I know, that doesn’t really happen to me either, but fear not, here’s 3 Springtime hyper hits with babes dancin’ around with pom pom’s or skates to get you hyper in the morning time!

First up is the brand new track by Narcotic Thrust – I Like It. Here’s a HP choon featuring some even happier pom pom shaking babes telling you exactly what they like. (It’s the bright lights they like according to the lyrics). Wicked, fresh n’ chewy!

Next up is Candee Jay – If I Were You. I know this is way on the commercial side, but heck, it’ still not the sort of thing you’ll see on MTV USA, so I guess that doesn’t make it commercial after all (huh?!). Anyway, it’s another uptempo track with a cool lil’ story (Candee goes to Vegas) and features Candee doin’ some nice dancin’ by the pool. (No pom poms this time – they don’t belong by the poolside silly!).

Finally is the new track by the Boogie Pimps – Sunny. Not quite as hyper as the other two tracks, this is more housey and laid back – it features a night out at the rollerblade club. Wow they got skills – I just cannot rollerblade to save my life. Anyway, here’s to blades n’ babes with lollipops!

April 2004 Dance Chart

The April 2004 Dance Chart is out now!

Springtime greetings everyone! A new month, and another fight for the top spot on the chart results in a tie between AvB and Plummet. Armin Van Buuren Feat Justine Suissa – Burned With Desire was a great chilled-out, laid back vocal track when it originally appeared on Armin van Buuren’s debut album ’76’. Those haunting lyrics were then meshed over an uptempo trance beat, and the result is a choon! Check out the video for Burned With Desire here. As well as Armin’s Rising Star Mix, the Riley & Durrant Vocal Mix is also worth checking for a slightly tougher mix.

Tied for the top spot is the awesome track “Cherish The Day” by Plummet. This is a cover of Sade’s track, and the two mixes (Antillas/Sorrentino) give two different interpretations. The Sorrentino Mix features excellent guitar riff’s and a more housey feel, whilst the Antillas Mix mixes trance and breakbeat just like they did with Plummet’s last single, Damaged video1, video2. BTW, the vocals are provided by the gorgeous Cheramy Burgess – more info on Plummet can be found at www.plummetmusic.com.

At number three is Justine Suissa AGAIN! This time she’s performing vocals for the excellent new Oceanlab track called “Satellite”. This is due for release in the UK on 19 Arpil – as with the previous Oceanlab single this is a awesome sing-along anthem! Fresh n’ chewy just the way it should be! Oceanlab consist of Jono Grant, Tony McGuinness and Paavo Siljamaki (Above & Beyond) and Justine – so now ya know!

Ultrasun are back with a brand new single! Oz-based Christos and Katie have been away for a while but are back with a great pop-dance track that’s very catchy! Can’t Stop This Feeling is due out soon! Check the UK Club Rush Remix (by Mat Bradshaw of the UK) and Club Ibiza Remixes.

Check out the video for Burned With Desire here (filmed at Godskitchen in Birmingham!)(hey, that babe dancer looks familiar!)Lyrics – Armin Van Buuren feat Jusine Suissa – Burned With Desire

For each forgotten kiss
For all the memories
For all the times alone
Said all we had to say

You played your part so well
A modern Romeo
You came on Cupid’s wings
And then you flew away

When you touched my face
When you call my name
I’m burned with desire

When you touched my face
When you call my name
I’m burned with desire
But you left me in the rain

For every sleepless night
Forever in your arms
For every hour spent
Lost in the revery

You broke your promises
No shame and no regrets
You burned the bridges too
An endless mystery

When you touched my face
So beautiful
When you call my name
My name..
I’m burned with desire

When you touched my face
So beautiful
When you call my name
My name..
I’m burned with desire
But you left me in the rain

When you touched my face
So beautiful
When you call my name
My name..
I’m burned with desire

When you touched my face
When you call my name
I’m burned with desire
But you left me in the rain..

Dance Music TV Streams

For those with broadband there are now some dedicated TV channels that stream dance music 24 hours a day. The two listed below need Winamp to watch the stream, but it’s well worth it!

First up is Trance TV from NTCast.com. They’re based in Korea of all places, and play some excellent videos that you won’t see on MTV!! Lots of European stuff, including stuff you won’t have seen before.

Next is XRM TV which is based in the US. They play more mainstream dance, but again, it’s stuff from Europe so nice and fresh! Noice!

And best of all, both streams are commercial free and in high quality!

March 2004 Dance Chart

The March 2004 Dance Chart is out now!

At the top of the chart is probably one of the best vocal trance tracks of the year so far. IIO – Smooth (Airbase Remix) takes the gorgeous vocals by African-born Nadia and mixes them with some Airscape-sounding uplifting trance. Result? Choon! I have no idea if Airbase and Airscape are one and the same, but they do sound very similar! Anyway – check out this track now! The commercial release of the single also features a stack of other mixes too, so something to please everyone.

At number 2 is very good housey track from the Benny Benassi stable. However, the Vision mix sounds nothing like the electo-sounding “Satisfaction” which was the hit of summer 2003. If you’re after that sound, then there’s the Sfaction Mix, but it’s the Vision Mix which forms the basis for the radio edit and club mix. For a totally different slant on the track, you MUST check the lush-sounding “Alle Slow Mix” – a nice chillout version – perfect for the nights of Summer 2004! (yeah – Summer is just around the corner now!)

Stepping up a gear, at number 3 is the NY-sounding LIV (Life In Intense Volume) with Journey Of Love. Choon! Check the Extended Mix – great track, excellent production – chooner! At number 4 is a superb new dance act from The Netherlands called Candee Jay. You can check out her excellent website here. Pronti & Kalmani are behind Candee – they’re the peeps that did “Janeiro” (THE track of 2002?) and they were also responsible for some very popular artists in 99/2000. Commercial, yes, but there are some great mixes for this single! Check it out!

Brit dance acts JX and Kelly Lllorenna feature at numbers 5 and 6, whilst at number 7 is the very catchy “Girlfriend” by Robbie Rivera. It’s as catchy as chickenpox (but nicer!) and you’ll be singing it for ages.

Anyway, check out the complete March 2004 Dance Charts here.

More next month – stay chooned!
